Colorado’s SAGE affiliate
SAGE is a national advocacy and services organization that’s been supporting LGBTQ+ elders since 1978. “We build welcoming communities,” SAGE says, “and keep our issues in the national conversation to ensure a fulfilling future for all LGBTQ+ people.” SAGE of the Rockies, based in Denver, is one of 29 SAGE affiliates in the country. The Colorado affiliate provides tools for successful aging for the older LGBTQ+ community. Programs focus on health, housing issues, legal and financial planning, legacy, and social connections. SAGE of the Rockies says its goal is to “give LGBTQ+ people over 50 a safe and respectful place to be themselves.” Jason Eaton-Lynch is Director of Elder Services.
