Adult Protective Services (APS)
Adult Protection Services (APS) are provided to at-risk-adults aged 18 and older who, due to age or disability, are unable to protect themselves and have no one to advocate on their behalf. The Adult Protection program deals with reports of Abuse – physical or sexual; Neglect – caregiver or self; and Financial Exploitation.
Financial Assistance
There are several different financial assistance programs available through the department. Each program has a unique set of requirements for eligibility.
Medical Assistance
Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program) is free or low-cost health care for Colorado children and adults who qualify. Coloradans who meet specific monthly income requirements can get insurance through Health First Colorado.
Food Assistance
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps low-income households in Colorado purchase food. It provides a monthly benefit that helps families and individuals buy the food they need for good health.
Other Assistance: Other programs or funding may be available to assist with needs such as utility payments, rent payments, gas, or assistance with burial or cremation.
