Since 1971, the Littleton Housing Authority, d.b.a. South Metro Housing Options (SMHO), has been building a better community by providing access to affordable housing in one of the most desirable places to live on Colorado’s Front Range. Affordable housing serves an essential need and creates a more diverse and productive community, personal empowerment, and economic opportunities. Good housing provides a stepping-stone toward self-sufficiency and promotes dignity, diversity, and individuality.
SMHO owns and manages 550 housing units within six communities. We also administer the housing choice vouchers program for the City of Littleton, providing affordable housing to thousands of people. Our work helps support a vibrant, sustainable, and mixed-income community of choice. SMHO is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Littleton City Council.
