My Story (Why I Started Talem)
Like many before me, I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of caring for a loved one and navigating the complex realms of hospitals, doctors, and rehabilitation facilities in the face of a life-changing injury or illness. Despite my decade-long tenure in the senior care industry and my certification as a Senior Advisor®, the process proved to be unexpectedly difficult after my mother’s passing in 2012. In addition to making agonizing life-and-death decisions for her, I was frustrated by the lack of support from healthcare staff.
Even with my background, the journey of finding resources and navigating the healthcare system had been intensely confusing and exasperating leading up to that point. This experience illuminated the struggles my clients had faced throughout my career, fostering a deeper understanding and empathy. It fueled my dedication to assist as many people as possible.
In 2012, I founded Talem Home Care & Placement Services with a mission to empower people to experience the full joy of living. This mission encapsulates our vision and defines who we are as a company. Our commitment is to support our staff, clients, and community partners in achieving their goals and dreams, providing every opportunity for success.
