Volunteers of America Colorado (VOAC) is a nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need transform their lives. Through more than 50 distinct human service programs, VOAC changes the lives of nearly 100,000 people in need each year. VOAC’s services include housing and emergency shelters, hunger and nutrition services, and many other community support programs. Our work touches the mind, body and heart of those we serve by integrating compassion into our highly-effective programs and services that build and strengthen communities.
Housing and Emergency Services
VOAC has a range of housing services— including operating 26 affordable housing communities and maintaining several emergency shelters. The safety and dignity of our clients has always been the utmost importance. Volunteers of America Colorado’s housing and shelter programs are designed to meet each individual’s needs based on where they are in their housing journey and to provide the resources to help them move forward.
Volunteers of America has several different nutrition and food programs designed to assist individuals with their nutritional needs, families with emergency food, and food pantries and soup kitchens with staples, fresh produce, dairy, and baked goods.
Each Volunteers of America branch is unique because the staff understands the existing needs within its geography. This understanding is how we reach our most vulnerable neighbors and provide them with the unique assistance they need to become as self-sufficient as possible.
At Volunteers of America, we have made it a focus to help veterans. Through partnerships with the VA and The Home Depot Foundation, we now operate two distinctly different programs to assist veterans and their families with everything from case management to housing and emergency services.
