There are hundreds of In-Home Care agencies in Colorado providing a variety of assistance to older adults living in their own home. Only those which have been vetted/checked out by AgeWise Colorado are listed on our website. Some (not many) provide a level of nursing care (called “skilled”–which may include medication management, help with IV’s, wound management, etc.. The majority provide what is called “unskilled” care–caregivers who have been trained to help clients with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring(in/out of bed or chairs), continence, feeding. Generally, the hourly rate for “skilled” is about double that for “unskilled”. In either case, most of the cost is private pay with few exceptions which are discussed in the video. Some agencies have a visit minimum of X hours; others do not. These things do change so it’s always best to ask.
